What is Expression Engine
ExpressionEngine, or “EE,” is a multi-purpose content management system developed by American software company EllisLab. It is a modular web platform that offers three tiers of licenses: Freelancer, Non-Commercial, and Commercial.
System Requirements for Expression Engine
Server Requirements
== PHP 5.3.10 or newer
== MySQL 5.0.3 or newer
== At least 32 MB memory allocated to PHP
== At least 10 MB of available disk space for the ExpressionEngine software and modules
== At least 2 MB of database space
Server Compatibility
== Download and unzip the archive
== Upload the folder to your server
== Point your web browser to the folder

Installing Expression Engine
1. Prep the Database
You will need an empty database to install Expression Engine
== MySQL Database Name
== MySQL Server Address
== MySQL Username
== MySQL Password
2. Upload the Files
Download it from your account after purchasing your account. Unzip files to a folder in your computer. Then use your FTP client to upload the files to a publicly-accessible directory on your server.
3. Set File Permissions
Set these files to 666:
== system/expressionengine/config/config.php
== system/expressionengine/config/database.php
Set these directories to 777:
== system/expressionengine/cache/
== images/avatars/uploads/
== images/captchas/
== images/member_photos/
== images/pm_attachments/
== images/signature_attachments/
== images/uploads/
4. Run The Installation Wizard
Point your browser to the URL of the admin.php file you uploaded and Follow the on-screen instructions to install Expression Engine.
5. Welcome to ExpressionEngine
You can now log in to your Control Panel at http://example.com/admin.php
